About Our School

Our school has been a space of learning and connection for children and families of Bellingen since 1978.

We are a not-for-profit Community Based Preschool for children aged 3-6 years old. A small rural service boasting a consistent, cohesive teaching team of 7, with 5-6 educators working with up to 29 children each day.

Our school is dedicated to creating a relational, nurturing environment, where all children, educators and families can feel safe, secure and supported to learn.

Our Location

Our vibrant and dynamic school is surrounded by nature on the outskirts of Bellingen on beautiful Gumbaynggirr Country.

Our school’s boundary is physically defined by a fence however we see our school as very much of this wonderful community. Our approach, philosophy and curriculum nurtures ‘otherness’, connections with each other, our beautiful land, our community and its rich Gumbaynggirr culture.

Our Standard

The child’s right to education for learning and connection continues to be at the absolute front of everything we do.

Bellingen Community Preschool is currently rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standards in all 7 areas and its 40 elements, acknowledgment of the dedication of our teaching and management teams and the high quality of education and care offered at our school.
